“Receive the children in reverence, educate them in love, and send them forth in freedom.”

Life in the Children’s Home

Sneha’s Children’s Home is a forever home for a few beautiful children (labeling them orphaned and abandoned is just heartbreaking). They come in as close to birth as possible. The natural environment that they come into help offset any trauma they may have experienced in their previous environment or while still in their mother’s womb. It is a place in the heart of the forest that lets Mother Nature be the Healer.

Home

A child needs the same things a tree needs.

Earth - Water - Light - Air

Baby Leah is not too different than a plant. With her sisters, Leah lives in a sturdy,
beautiful tree house - made of bamboo, mud and leaves for a roof. Her home is right at the heart of a forest.

She’s growing up with birds, butterflies, dogs, horses, snakes, frogs, bees, fishes and many other animals. There’s an eagle’s nest not too far from her home where she can watch the exotic being circle around in the forest sky.

She will soon start playing with dirt and mud for countless hours ...

She goes to bed with the stridulating crickets & wakes up with the songs of the morning birds.

Health

Every child at the Children’s Home is provided with full healthcare and emergency medical support. But at Sneha, healthcare goes far beyond only physical health and factors in the health of the mind & spirit as well.

Our children do not spend their days sitting in front of computers under artificial lights, but are encouraged to move and use their bodies in healthy ways, and to spend time out in nature.

The Children’s Home is situated right at the heart of a forest where children can play and explore the outdoors and breathe fresh air.

Nourishing them with whole healthful food is part of what we value. Our organic garden provides our children with safe, clean, locally grown nutritious food.

Be a part of Leah and her sisters’ lives

“Gardens and children need the same things -
patience, love and someone who will never give up on them.”

Education

Child development is at the heart of everything we do in Sneha. In order to educate free human beings, we believe in supporting the child's natural developmental stages. We use the truth and beauty of the natural world to teach the child, advance to develop observation and reverence for life. We follow the enthusiasm for learning that lives in every child. Held outdoors, our Forest Kindergarten program is the epitome of a nature-based education. Children are encouraged to play, explore and immerse themselves in the natural environment of their outdoor classroom. They use their imagination, stretch their muscles and hone their motor skills - they enjoy an unhurried childhood in our beautiful 8-acre forest.

Protection & Support

We take children from unkind circumstances and provide a healthy, loving environment - a home and the security of a family - in which they can heal and grow.

For their overall protection and support, we are working towards:

  • Vigorous family and community life

  • A healthy unfolding of childhood

  • Joy in the learning process

  • Education focused on wholeness in body, soul and spirit

  • Beauty of the environment as a formative force in the child’s world

Our beautiful 8 acre facility with its host of animals, pristine ponds and lush Gojari forest provides an all natural backdrop that supports creative, self-initiated play.
